Listed consumer internet company Info Edge yesterday said that a designated “person” inadvertently shared the company’s unaudited draft financial results for the quarter ended December 2025 with an “outsider”.

In a filing with the exchanges, Info Edge clarified that the information was meant to be sent to the company statutory auditors, but was accidentally emailed to an external person.

Noting that the data file was password-protected, the company added that the password to access the draft results was not included in the “inadvertent” email.

“We would like to inform you that today (i.e. January 28, 2026 at 5:41 PM), the company was made aware that a designated person of the company inadvertently sent an email to an outsider containing the password protected unaudited draft financial results of the company for the quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2025, while attempting to send it to the statutory auditors of the company,” said Info Edge in the filing.

The Naukri parent also informed the exchanges that it has initiated steps to take necessary action in the matter.

Info Edge also warned the public to not rely on any purported information related to the company’s Q3 FY26 results as the aforementioned financials are yet to be reviewed and finalised.

“Stakeholders/ investors are advised not to rely on any information regarding the financial results of the company unless it has been disclosed by the company pursuant to the processes set out under law. Any person making an investment decision based on this information will do so at their own risk,” added Info Edge.

This follows a series of similar incidents at other publicly listed companies. Earlier this month, Hatsun Agro Products said that its draft unaudited Q3 FY26 financials were accidentally posted on a senior executive’s personal WhatsApp status.

On similar lines, ICICI Lombard General Insurance also came under fire after its unaudited financial details for the December 2025 quarter were inadvertently shared on a senior employee’s WhatsApp status.

Founded in 1995 by Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Info Edge is one of India’s oldest internet-based companies. The company operates a slew of consumer-facing platforms such as classifieds site Naukri, proptech marketplace 99acres, matrimonial platform Jeevansathi) and education-focussed Shiksha.

Besides, Info Edge has also backed some of the biggest names in the Indian startup ecosystem such as foodtech major Eternal, insurtech giant PB Fintech, men’s grooming brand Ustra, edtech platform Adda247, inter-city bus travel platform Zingbus, and others.

On the financial front, the consumer services company clocked a consolidated net profit of INR 347.5 Cr in Q2 FY26, up 3X from INR 84.7 Cr in the year-ago quarter. Meanwhile, operating revenue rose 15% YoY to INR 805.5 Cr during the quarter under review.
